Alan Horn Says "Couple of Years" Until Next Superman Movie

Collider.com spoke with Warner Bros. President Alan Horn to see where they were at with their superhero movies.

I then ask when we might be seeing another Superman. "Probably in the next couple of years. We're very anxious to bring Superman back also."
I then say Green Lantern? "Also on the board. On the runway. Hasn't taken off yet, but we're close."

I finally ask what he thinks the next Superhero property might be from Warner Bros. He says "I think Green Lantern is probably the best guess but I can't promise it at this moment."

And Justice League? "Not yet."

Confusion Over Next Superman Movie

Aint-It-Cool-News.com and IGN.com both caught up with Bryan Singer at this weekend's press junket for his new film "Valkyrie". Both managed to ask him about the next Superman film... but once again Singer wasn't forthcoming with a clear answer...

AICN: So, I've heard that there might be some re-interest in SUPERMAN with Warner Bros. Is that true?
Bryan Singer: I couldn't... you know.. I couldn't tell you or talk about that at this point. I honestly... I'm just so... at least as far as my role in it is concerned I just need... I just have... this one because we had to drop and pick up on this has been a longer process so... yeah I wouldn't be able to give you a clear... any clarity on that. (laughs)

IGN.com posted this paragraph...
We asked Singer if it was a good thing to be off the project as far as he was concerned, to which he replied that he was "not officially not involved." Beyond that, however, the director was tightlipped on the matter.

So when real news does finally come out regarding the next Superman movie, it's highly unlikely it'll come from Bryan Singer.

Singer "Not Divorced" From "Superman"

General rumblings about the "Superman" sequel had director Bryan Singer potentially no longer involved in the project.

UGO went to the director himself and asked him about said rumors and it seems as if though there are talks going on, he's not part of them as yet.

Is he involved? Singer says "I am not officially involved in the talk, no."

When they do talk, will they call him? "Well it’s, you know, I have relationships with Warner Brothers and with the character and, and, and, and it’s just the way things work out."

Asked straight up "But you are not divorced from Superman at this point?" He simply responded "No."

Possible Actor Strike Could Derail Smallville Season 9

In the December 8 edition of TV Guide magazine there is an article titled "Big Plans for Smallville" in which executive producer Darren Swimmer discusses plans for a 9th season of "Smallville". With a ratings on an increase this season, Swimmer would like the TV series to go another season, but admits that "actor availability" may be a problem. As for Clark's secret identity issues, "Clark's now in full control of his powers and basically accepting the fact that he's going to become Superman. The formation of the dual identity is what he's going to be negotiating from here on out," Swimmer says. "He'll start to experiment."
The article also hints at an appearance by the Toyman in an up-coming episode.
