Rosenbaum Turns Down Return to "Smallville"

EW.com are reporting that Michael Rosenbaum will not return to the 10th and final season of "Smallville" to reprise his role of Lex Luthor.

EW has learned that actor Michael Rosenbaum has repeatedly rebuffed attempts by producers this season to get him back on The CW's show to reprise his role as Luthor in the finale.

"He has put the show behind him and moved on," says a knowledgeable source. "He's pursuing his other creative outlet [writing]. By all indications, he is not going to be involved."

There's still a small window of opportunity for Michael to change his mind, with the show wrapping production within the next two months, but it doesn't look likely.

Ilya Salkind Company Issues Press Release Regarding Ilya's Condition

By Barry Freiman (Associate Editor of Superman Homepage & Dc Comics Expert)

Glenn Weisberger, Senior Executive of the Ilya Salkind Company, today provided the Superman Homepage with a Press Release regarding Ilya Salkind's visit to Mexico and released some of the details of the accident that resulted in his hospitalization on Monday:

Q: Why was he in Mexico?

A: Mr. Salkind has an estate in Mexico that he visits from time to time in a charming little village near Mexico City. It's a quaint quiet location where he can go to think. He had some business to conduct there so he went down to complete the business and take a little vacation. The most important part of the business was to get away from the frenetic hustle and bustle of Hollywood so that he could work on his next blockbuster
film, THE ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN. This big budget project is in the financing phase and we plan to be in production later this year.

Q:What happened?
A: He was taking an stroll and had an accident. He was taken to a hospital and unfortunately he didn't have his cell phone with him and
communication lapsed. Mr. Salkind's condition is stable and we hope to
have more information from his doctors shortly. He is expected to return to his home in Los Angeles soon.

Ilya Salkind, co-Producer of "Superman: The Movie", "Superman II", "Superman III", "Supergirl", "Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut", and "Superboy: The TV Series", has been reported as being missing in Mexico City, according to website TMZ. Salkind, 63, came up with the idea in 1974 to produce a series of live-action films starring the Man of Steel. Salkind grew up in Mexico and owned property there. According to TMZ:

The 63-year-old, who was born in Mexico City, had traveled south of the border to handle a property he inherited from his mother who passed away a few years ago.

Friends of Salkind tell us ... members of Ilya's staff last saw the legendary producer at his estate in Mexico on Sunday as he was on his way to "handle some errands and get some dental work done."

However, Salkind has not returned -- and yesterday, his friends filed a missing persons report with Mexican authorities.

Season 3 Episode 16 Part 3

Podcast Powered By Podbean
In this portion (recorded January 13th). We discuss Wonder Woman not getting picked up by any of the networks (note: there is a reason for this. Since the podcast was recorded David E. Kelley said it was because of timing, he just didn't pitch it early enough fo them to pick it up, so it was not disinterest). We also discuss the Smallville "Destiny Is Now" poster and its potential implications on the remainder of the season. And we have a few tangents. Joining us is Sam Rizzo, owner of the Superboy Homepage and Kaman Stowell, vlogger extraordinaire on youtube (and a super-collector). Enjoy!

Ilya Salkind Comments on Susannah York's Recent Passing

The Superman community and family are saddened by the news of the passing of Susannah York, who portrayal Lara-El in Superman: The Movie. Ilya Salkind (Producer, Superman I-III) commented on the news of the passing of Susannah.

"It is with terrible sorrow to learn of the passing of Susannah York. She was a grand lady of acting and definitely made Lara-El the ultimate mother who understands that the way to happiness for her son is to relinquish his powers for love. As a mother she knows love is more important to the growth of Kal-El at that time. It is this understanding that allowed the audience to accept Superman giving up his powers, which will
make him his own man. I was honored and grateful to be able to work with Susannah." - Ilya Salkind

Our thoughts and prayers are with Susannah York's family and friends at this time.
